What’s going on?
The Los Angeles Times reports that Fauci said during a virtual discussion with the University of Melbourne that the future of the country could be normal if enough people take the coronavirus vaccine.
- “I think it will be easily by the end of 2021 — and perhaps even into the next year — before we start having some semblance of normality,” he said.
He could also see a future where restaurants never get to full capacity and people have to wear face masks indoors.
Fauci said wearing masks may be more common moving forward as it has been in place before the pandemic began, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Fauci also recently said the first coronavirus vaccine doses would be available to high risk populations around late December or early January, according to Reuters.
Fauci said the U.S. should know about the efficacy of the vaccine within the next few weeks.
